There are less than 50 days to 2025. Double check your BOI disclosures due under the CTA.
It's true: members of NSBA in good standing as of March 1, 2024, are currently exempt from beneficial ownership information (BOI) reporting requirements due under the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) (*Nov. 14, 2024).
Making the case that the government should not be able to create a no-warrant-needed, searchable database from these BOI submissions, NSBA won this exclusion for its members in federal court earlier this year, and we are hopeful this exemption will be expanded to all small-business owners soon.
In the meantime, for small-business owners outside of the NSBA exempt class, as well as those who want to know more about the CTA, our partner Wolters Kluwer is offering tools to ensure compliance with the CTA.

*IMPORTANT NOTE | If you were an NSBA member as of March 1, 2024, you are CURRENTLY EXEMPT from BOI reporting by our victory against Treasury over the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA).
We are hopeful this exemption will be expanded to all small-business owners soon, and we are continuing our fight to repeal the CTA.
