NEWS | NSBA Submits Comments to House Data Privacy Working Group

For impacts on the economy as the nation's largest contributors, Small Business must receive the protections it deserves when it comes to data privacy.


Last week, NSBA submitted comments to the House Energy and Commerce Committee's Data Privacy Working Group in response to its request for information (RFI) exploring a framework for a federal comprehensive data privacy and security law.


In the comments, NSBA urged the working group to craft a law that, among other things, (1) accounts for entity size, (2) federally preempts existing state laws governing data privacy, and (3) prohibits private rights of action as enforcement mechanisms.
